Jason Schiffman

Jason Eric Schiffman, MD, MA, MBA is the Founder and Medical Director of the Dual Diagnosis Program at UCLA Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital. He is also the Founder and Executive Director of Camden Center, an internationally recognized center of excellence for the treatment of addictive and psychiatric disorders. Dr. Schiffman is the author of the forthcoming book Epidemic of Excess, to be published by Viking (Penguin Random House).

Dr. Schiffman supervises the training of physicians in the UCLA Addiction Medicine Fellowship Program during their clinical rotations at Camden Center. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is board-certified in Addiction Medicine by the American Board of Preventive Medicine. He completed his psychiatry residency at the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior, where he served as Chief Resident of the UCLA Anxiety Disorder Program.

Dr. Schiffman is a graduate of the MD/MBA program at the University of Southern California and holds a Master of Arts in Linguistics from UCLA, with a specialization in syntax and semantics. He has written extensively on addiction, trauma, anxiety, and depression in both the academic and popular press and lectures frequently on these topics throughout the United States. His research background includes extensive work in psychopharmacology and molecular biology, and he has authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications in these fields.
